What is Siikmon? Are you sick, man? Do you seek man? Siikmon welcomes any and all interpretations...
This song is written from a perspective of longing: for love, for change, for rest, for a new day. It ends with a note of hope for today, recognizing that the strive brought by longing should be grounded in the acceptance and appreciation of where you've made it in your journey so far.
Originally written and performed by Living Planet (Kingston, Ontario 2006-2009, see credits) but having never been recorded, Sauvelm brought it to FunkJoint who have lovingly transformed it into the recording it is today.
lyrics
Sun starts its rising in the morning air
New beams of light fall on your golden hair
And I’d like to stay around your love all day
But I’ve got a road and some dreams and some dues to pay
Cause you know I’m sick man
We sick man
There’s dirt on my hands and there’s dust on my feet
Swear they weren’t there when I went to sleep
Been caught up in the working life and the working strife
I need to purify
Cause you know we seek man
We seek man…
Sun starts its setting in the evening dust
My day on this living planet is done
Watch as the sky turns from blue to gray
I’ll tell you, there’s still some hope for today
Cause you know we siikmon
